Building a Coaching Culture

Talent Development

At Banpu, coaching is treated as a core leadership capability rather than an optional skill, and it is one of the key pillars of our Engaging Leader Program, which has been implemented continuously since 2018 to embed a sustainable coaching culture across the organization. The program is designed as a progression, from the foundational Great Coach program, equipping supervisors and team leaders with essential coaching principles, to HiCoach, a practice-based program emphasizing real-world application.
Banpu’s internal coaching framework is designed as a cross-functional and cross-country learning journey, pairing coaches and coachees from different functions and geographies to strengthen system-wide thinking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across the Group. A distinctive feature of this approach is the involvement of external mentors who are certified professional coaches accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), providing ongoing guidance, observation, and structured feedback to ensure coaching quality and sustained capability development.
