Our coal mining in Mongolia is located near Nalaikh village, Bayan-Ovoo district, Umnugobi province, a remote area where livestock owners had limited access to animal health services or veterinary suppliers for several years. This created risks of livestock disease outbreaks, with potential impacts on household income and food security.

To improve economic stability for livestock owners, the Company supported USD 21,150 for fieldwork in the remote area by the Mongolian Veterinary Cooperative and the Veterinary Pharmacology Institute NGO. The program included clinical examinations of small livestock, biological sample collection for laboratory testing, post-mortem analysis, laboratory testing, data recording, and presentation of examination results to each participating household. As a result, livestock owners were able to identify diseases affecting their animals and improve access to necessary veterinary medicines and supplies. The community also gained knowledge of animal health management and disease prevention. This project strengthened collaboration among the community, research teams, and NGOs, while enhancing quality of life in a sustainable way.
