บริษัทฯ ให้ความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อผลกระทบที่จะเกิดขึ้น กับชุมชนจึงได้กำหนดให้จัดทำการประเมินผลกระทบทางสังคม (Social Impact Assessment) ในทุกหน่วยธุรกิจ ตั้งแต่ก่อนเริ่มโครงการ ข้อมูลที่ได้รับจากการประเมินจะถูกนำมาออกแบบกิจกรรมที่ตอบสนองต่อความต้องการของชุมชนโดยคำนึงถึงการลดหรือหลีกเลี่ยงผลกระทบต่อชุมชนเป็นหลัก รวมถึงเปรียบเทียบการคลี่คลายผลกระทบก่อนที่จะออกจากพื้นที่ปฏิบัติการเมื่อสิ้นสุดสัญญา อนึ่ง หากมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงในรายละเอียดโครงการ ระหว่างดำเนินการ บริษัทฯ ได้กำหนดให้มีการประเมินผลกระทบทางสังคมใหม่อีกครั้งโดยพิจารณาความสอดคล้องกับกิจกรรมการผลิตที่ได้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไป
Social Impact Assessment and Community Communication
Banpu conducts Social Impact Assessments (SIA) through multiple types of project‑level studies, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), to identify, assess, and manage potential impacts on local communities.
These assessments address communication with affected stakeholders, disclosure of potential environmental and social impacts, and the implementation of engagement mechanisms throughout the project lifecycle.
